Candy/ Candy/ Candy/ Candyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy……

I was in the car listening to the classical music station and for the month of February, the station plays songs by Black composers, singers, and musicians. I found myself falling in love with these old songs. I’m going to tell you about one of my favorite old songs:

Now, I love The Cosby Show. Remember that episode when the family meets Stevie Wonder? Well the most memorable part of the episode, besides the parts that Stevie Wonder are in, is when Cliff goes upstairs and the way that Clair gets him to come back downstairs. There’s a song that she plays and the name of that song is “Candy” by Big Maybelle. She was an American R&B singer and pianist. Her 1956 hit single “Candy” received the Grammy Hall of Fame Award in 1999. This is one of my favorite songs. I love it so much. It sounds so classic…

P.S. To watch the part in the episode where the song plays watch here and start at about 2:15 :
